April 21, 2010 (Wall Street Journal) - It’s well known that homebuilders have struggled through the last few years. But, land is back. And it's apparently worth fighting for. Back in 2007 and 2008, builders showed little interest in Estrella, a 12,000-acre master-planned project in Goodyear, Ariz., being developed by Newland Communities. But, already this year, it has four signed contracts and two more deals in the works," said Chief Executive Bob McLeod. "There's been a strong renewed interest in every area we're in, whether it's Tampa, Atlanta, or Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill or Phoenix."
